Based on our own phthisiopulmonological experience, the difficulties of diagnosis of exogenous allergic alveolitis (EAA) on the example of a clinical case are presented. On a high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) against the background of diffuse pneumosclerosis, small-mesh changes, violation of pulmonary architectonics, and thickening of interlobular septa in the form of a “cellular” lung were visualized.

HRCT is the “gold standard” in the diagnosis of EAA. A definitive diagnosis of EAA requires an interdisciplinary approach involving all relevant specialists with sufficient experience in the diagnosis of disseminated (interstitial) lung diseases.

Key words. exogenous allergic alveolitis, pulmonary fibrosis, “cellular” lung, pulmonary dissemination
